AI Engineer

Digital Brain is an AI consultancy based in Malta, part of the Bajada Lyons Group. We build production AI systems for clients across healthcare, enterprise, and beyond.

We’re looking for an AI Engineer to join our development team and ship real AI products, not demos, not slideware.

What you’ll do

• Design and build AI systems end-to-end, from prototype to production

• Develop agentic workflows and multi-step LLM pipelines

• Integrate computer vision, NLP, and structured data pipelines into client and internal products

• Deploy and maintain AI services on Azure

• Work closely with our Product Owners and full-stack engineers to turn requirements into working systems

• Contribute to technical decisions, architecture reviews, and code quality across the team

What we need from you

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building AI/ML systems in production

• Strong Python skills. This is non-negotiable.

• Practical experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) and prompt engineering

• Demonstrable experience building agentic workflows (LangChain, LangGraph, custom orchestration). We care about the thinking, not the framework.

• Working knowledge of computer vision libraries (OpenCV, YOLO, or similar)

• Comfortable deploying to Azure, or willing to ramp up quickly

• You can read a problem statement, push back where it needs pushing back, and ship something that works

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases and RAG architectures

• Background in MLOps, containerisation, or CI/CD for AI workloads

• Exposure to data protection and AI regulation (GDPR, EU AI Act awareness)
