General Scope and Purpose of Position

We are currently looking for a Tutor to join us on a part-time casual basis at our premises in Ghajnsielem, Gozo. The chosen candidate shall be responsible for the effective planning and implementation of group sessions and activities according to set standards and criteria. They will work collaboratively with the Gozo Services Manager, STEP Unit Manager and other team members to ensure good practice in the service the department provides.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work directly with children on the autism spectrum and the administration of the PEP 3 assessment with new clients as required.
  • Prepare resources and lead the sessions.
  • Provide feedback to parents.
  • Be responsible for identified administrative duties within the programme as discussed and agreed upon during the handing over period.
  • Working closely with the present Gozo Services Manager, Team Lead and Head of Services.
  • Ensure day-to-day smooth running of the programme.
  • Liaising with relevant team members (tutors/therapists).
  • Ensuring that the physical environment is maintained and meets the required standards that are in place.
  • Ensure full compliance to internal policies and procedures and to inform the necessary departments should any gaps or flaws be identified.

Qualification Requirements

The ideal candidate must be in possession of the following:

  • MQF Level 6 (Degree) or equivalent qualification in Psychology/ Early Intervention/ Education or any related social science.
  • Previous experience in a similar setting with exposure to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or challenging behavior will be advantaged.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Highly proficient in English language (both spoken & written).
  • Available to work on Saturdays.
