General Scope and Purpose of Position

We are currently looking for a Pathfinder Manager to join us on a Full-Time Basis. The Manager shall oversee the ongoing creation of a one-stop shop where individuals and families can be provided a clear and visible gateway that will connect them to effective information, navigation, intervention, and support by providing direction about existing services.

What is Pathfinder?

Pathfinder is a service that helps people with disabilities and their families access the information, support, and assistance they need. It focuses on building strong support networks to remove barriers and ensure everyone can fully enjoy their rights.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for ensuring/championing total quality management (TQM), efficiency, effectiveness, development, and customer satisfaction of the Pathfinder Service.
  • Ensure that certification, licencing standards, as well as any accreditation standards are consistently met and maintained.
  • Establish appropriate governance structure and procedures linking in with service provision.
  • To continually seek to improve the standards of the services through research, networking and collaboration with experts and colleagues both within Inspire as well as outside the organisation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements to the Pathfinder service delivery and customer experience.
  • To own and manage the annual budget for the Pathfinder Service, making the best use of resources while ensuring that all the necessary tools are available for employees where applicable to deliver a top-quality service.
  • Be responsible for maintaining an inventory of resources and for ensuring the procurement of resources required to effectively run the Pathfinder Service.
  • Develop assessment forms – including stakeholder assessments, the content of which will help guide the referral.
  • Coordinate the service, determine eligibility (based on the PICO Framework), and ensure that all customers are seen promptly.
  • Elicit information and work to empower customers and help them formulate plans so that what will be offered in terms of support would be based on individual assessment of need.
  • For those customers who are eligible, provide trauma-informed sessions according to need.
  • Take initial measures (such as PWI) and clarify expectations and goals with customers to ensure that there is clarity regarding expected outcomes.
  • Development/ co-ordination/ signposting of effective responses (including the development of referral pathways) e.g., support or services, e.g.,
    • Referral to existing Inspire programmes/services; empowerment training/workshops
    • Referral for assessment and diagnosis
    • Advocacy
    • Advice
    • Therapy 
  • Direct customers to appropriate resources (identify eligibility/provide introductions).
  • Develop and run training programmes for parents, employees, professionals, and any other stakeholders.
  • Develop/Facilitate customer support groups and workshops.
  • Offer ongoing consultation (in-person, online and telephone consultation by arrangement) (emails returned within 3 working days).
  • Take post-intervention measures (such as PWI).
  • Oversee the recruitment process of employees within the Pathfinder Service where appropriate, ensuring an appropriate attitude and background of those persons enrolled.
  • Ensuring the development, production, analysis and reporting of reports/statistics concerning service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, provide or contribute to specialist reports relevant to the practice setting as required, including, but not limited to, end-of-term reports and monthly statistical reports, business plans, as well as any reports concerning possible service agreements
  • To enhance public awareness and the perception of the Unit under remit through TV and radio appearances, visits and talks to relevant stakeholders, etc.

Role Requirements:

The ideal candidate should be in possession of the following:

  • A recognized qualification at a minimum MQF Level 6 in social science or relevant.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role/setting.
  • At least 1 year of Leadership Experience.

Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunization.
