Inspire in Malta is currently looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to join their team on a full-time basis

General Scope and Purpose of Position:

Our Occupational Therapists shall be responsible for providing specialist assessment and interventions utilizing Occupational Therapy strategies for clients referred to such therapies. They shall also be responsible in monitoring & training staff directly involved in the implementation of the OT treatment plan, as well as attend client reviews.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Occupational Therapy to our clients within the programme as required
  • Manage a caseload of clients using Occupational Therapy skills including evidence based, client centered principles to assess, plan, implement & evaluate interventions
  • Plan & implement client centered individual & group interventions, as well as domiciliary visits, using clinical reasoning & a wide range of interventions to achieve therapeutic goals
  • Monitor, evaluate & modify treatment for clients with multiple needs in order to measure progress & ensure effectiveness of intervention
  • Undertake therapeutic moving & handling of clients & equipment, within clinical & non-clinical settings
  • Provide supervision to our junior staff and to Occupational Therapy students on practice placement as necessary
  • Establish & maintain communication networks with clients, carers & other health workers & agencies
  • Maintain professional & adequate reporting systems in both verbal & written documentation form
  • Ensure that up to date written & electronic records, as well as activity data are maintained in accordance with Inspire standards
  • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy reports relevant to the practice setting
  • Decide priorities for own work area, balancing other client related & professional demands & ensuring that these remain in accordance with those of the service area
  • Actively participate in the collection of appropriate data & statistics as required by the organization
  • Liaise closely with Programme Manager in monitoring the level & quality of service provision
  • Working within service standards and providing timely responses
  • Contribute to the operational planning & implementation of policy & service development related to Occupational Therapy
  • Assist in the delivery of delegated areas of the Occupational Therapy development plan within the Therapy Service as required
  • Actively engage in research & audit projects relevant to Occupational Therapy within the Therapy Service.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bsc. Degree MQF level 6 in Occupational Therapy
  • Be registered with the Council for the Professions Complimentary to Medicine (CPCM)
  • High proficiency in English Language (Level C1) (Both spoken & written).
