Aġenzija Sapport requires the service of a full-time Executive IV (Leader) within the Supported Independent Living unit on an indefinite contract basis.
The starting annual basic salary for the current year is €28,314 with annual increments. Moreover, a yearly Leader's Allowance of €3,220 is applicable for the role. Further allowances are applicable, depending on the employee's level of experience and qualifications, as noted within the requisites' section.
The selected candidate may also have the possibility of choosing to work on shift basis. Moreover, where applicable a number of other attractive allowances are also attached to this post.
Objectives of the Role
The Leader shall be given the opportunity of heading and running one of the Agency’s supported independent living units for persons with disability. They shall be responsible for two aspects:
Firstly, providing holistic and empowering support to persons with disability living in the community and enhancing their potential to live independently, in line with UNCRPD.
Secondly, s/he shall be responsible for professionally leading and motivating a team of employees who work within the supported independent living unit, whilst ensuring that they are consistently and systematically following set policies and procedures, together with the individual support plans of the persons with disability.
Leadership skills are an asset to this role, as the selected candidate shall ensure that the service offered to the Agency’s service users is efficient and effective, whilst adhering to the highest professional standards of practice. The selected candidate shall be an active participant in the team supporting individuals with behaviour of concern and/or high support needs, in every aspect of their daily requirements. S/He shall also be expected to actively participate in the assessment and development of individual support plans, working within a multi-disciplinary team, attending case conferences/reviews and psychiatric reviews.
The Leader is directly accountable to the Service Manager and shall continually liaise with him/her in relation to the service. The Leader is expected to network with resources and advocate for social change and inclusion to enable service users to achieve a good quality of life according to their rights and be empowered towards principles of co-production and self-determination. The role also involves administrative tasks pertaining to the service.
The selected candidate may be required to follow a number of compulsory training modules.

Requisites
Eligible candidates shall be in possession of the following (and pegged to the respective grade as per qualifications and experience):
1a. Candidates shall be in possession of a recognized Bachelor’s qualification at MQF Level 6 (180-240 ECTS) or higher in a relevant social science, or a relevant health science or another management-related field. In addition, candidates shall be in possession of three (3) years’ work experience in a leadership role;
OR
1b. Candidates shall be in possession of a Level 7 qualification (90-120 ECTS) or higher in the areas indicated above, and in possession of two (2) years’ experience * in a leadership role;
Candidates in possession of criteria 1a or 1b shall be placed on Grade C (Executive IV) of the Collective Agreement which is of €28.314 with annual increments;
OR
2a. Candidates shall be in possession of a recognised Bachelor’s qualification at MQF Level 6 (180-240 ECTS) or higher in a relevant social science, or a relevant health science or another management related field. In addition, candidates shall be in possession of eight (8) years’ experience * in a leadership role;
OR
2b. Candidates shall be in possession of a recognised Level 7 qualification (90-120 ECTS) in the areas indicated above, and in possession of six (6) years’ experience * in a leadership role.
Candidates in possession of criteria 2a or 2b shall be placed on Grade B (Senior Executive I) of the Collective Agreement, which is of €31,245 with annual increments.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in a leadership role. It is essential that candidates know how to speak in both Maltese and English to the benefit of the service users.
*Only professional experience will be considered: that is, consideration will only be given to work experience in the respective professional roles effective from the date when the candidate has achieved his/her MQF Level 6 or MQF Level 7 full qualifications (whichever comes first).
