We are seeking a for a Telecommunications Technician to join our fun, transparent and collaborative team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications systems and equipment. This includes ensuring the proper functioning of voice communication systems for commercial customers. The technician will troubleshoot issues and perform regular maintenance.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, such as switches, PABXs, and VoIP systems.
• Run and terminate various types of cables including fiber optic.
• Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues related to telecommunications systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
• Respond promptly to service calls and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Train customers on system usage, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Prepare detailed reports on work performed, including any issues encountered and solutions implemented.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience and Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Related degree in telecommunications, electronics, Cisco CCNA or similar will be considered an asset.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications or a related field.
• Experience with various telecommunications systems and equipment.
• Maintain positive customer relationships through professional and courteous interactions.
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to telecommunications installations and repairs.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills as well as, excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined space.
• In possession of a clean driving license
