About the Department:
The Administration & Facilities Management oversees and manages the Authority's building management services, centralised travel desk, hospitality, and support and ensures the efficient performance of all function areas.

About the Role:
We are seeking skilled and reliable Night Security Officers to join our team, tasked with safeguarding a government facility that employs approximately 500 staff across a 9,000-square-meter premises. Working under the guidance of the Physical Security Manager, these officers will ensure the safety of our employees, visitors, and assets during night hours. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and responsiveness to protect the premises, monitor security systems, and manage access to the building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct frequent and thorough patrols of the facility and surrounding grounds
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, following established protocols
  • Enforce security policies and procedures, maintaining a visible and proactive presence
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
  • Provide assistance and information to employees and any approved visitors
  • Operate and monitor surveillance equipment, ensuring cameras and security systems are functioning effectively
  • Control access points, monitoring entry and exit, and handle security exceptions as required
  • Complete nightly reports, recording observations, incidents, and surveillance footage.

About You:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Security Guard License
  • Willingness to work night hours
  • Familiarity with security protocols and emergency response procedures
  • Security-related training or certifications (preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in security or law enforcement (preferred)
  • First Aid and Firefighting Certification (preferred)
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Maltese and English; basic computer skills
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism consistently
  • Approach duties with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
  • Promote inclusivity and respect, reflecting the entity’s commitment to non-discrimination
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully, maintaining confidentiality and security awareness
  • Show strong time-management skills, prioritizing tasks effectively
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts, remaining calm and making sound decisions under pressure.
