Maintenance Technician/Handyman

Our client, a leading group of companies in the Hospitality industry, is looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician/Handyman to join their growing team. The chosen candidate will be responsible to: 

• Collaborate with the Head of Department to review and prioritize daily work orders, ensuring efficient allocation of maintenance tasks.
• Conduct regular checks and repairs at AX Group sites, including electrical and low-voltage maintenance, and perform necessary replacements of fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
• Assist the Head of the Department in managing maintenance and preventive service contracts for essential systems, including lifts, fire alarms, intruder alarms, fire pumps, and generators.
• Investigate faults and breakdowns across building services and equipment, collaborating with the Head of Department to determine solutions and assign appropriate personnel.
• Maintain detailed records of all completed work through electronic and hard copy filing, including job sheets, time sheets, and warranty documents.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols during repairs and modifications, especially on development sites, to uphold operational standards and reduce risk.
• Monitor the safety of electrical, plumbing, and hoarding installations, reporting damages and coordinating repairs with technical teams or contractors as necessary. Track and document material expenses for each job.
• Submit a comprehensive report at the end of each week, summarizing completed work and updating the maintenance sheet every Friday.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and maintain a clean, organized company vehicle.
• Be available on an on-call basis as required and perform additional tasks as directed by the Head of Department.

• Must be settled in Malta, holding a Driving License
• Able to work independently and multi-task
• Have a hard-working attitude

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Good knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and maintenance jobs
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English language
