Meliá Hotels International is looking to recruit a Duty Maintenance Technician to join the Affiliated by Meliá Hotels located in St. Julian's. This person will be responsible for performing highly diversified maintenance duties and will be called to install, troubleshoot and repair, while offering exceptional levels of customer service.
What will I be doing?
•Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
•Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
•Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime and disruptions.
•Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, such as lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and electrical outlets.
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
•Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services when necessary.
•Conduct preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules to minimize equipment failures and extend equipment lifespan.
•Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
•Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and guidelines, to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
•Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
What are we looking for?
•Diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or trade school education is preferred.
•Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
•Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
•Proficient in diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions.
•Basic understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
•Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues, contractors, and vendors.
•Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor as required.
•Availability for on-call and emergency maintenance duties as needed.
