Delivery Driver / Material Handler

We are seeking a responsible and reliable Delivery Driver / Material Handler to join our natural stone company in San Ġwann.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting marble, granite, and other materials to clients and project sites across Malta, using company cars, vans, and small trucks. The role also involves operating a forklift and assisting with the loading, unloading and manual handling of materials.

Main responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles, vans and small trucks safely and responsibly.

• Load and secure materials correctly before departure.

• Deliver materials to specified addresses within agreed timeframes.

• Unload materials safely at clients’ premises and project sites.

• Operate a forklift for loading, unloading and material movement.

• Learn to unload trailers at our factory using an overhead crane, following the required training and safety procedures.

• Check deliveries against the relevant documentation.

• Prepare, complete and obtain signatures on delivery notes.

• Use Google Maps confidently to locate delivery addresses and plan routes.

• Assist colleagues with the manual handling of heavy materials when required.

• Carry out basic checks and maintain the cleanliness of company vehicles.

• Follow all company health and safety procedures and report any damage or delivery issues immediately.

Candidate requirements

• A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicles being driven.

• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles or making deliveries is preferred.

• Forklift experience or certification would be considered an advantage.

• Responsible, careful and punctual, with a strong awareness of safety.

• Physically capable of handling heavy materials.

• Able to read, write and complete delivery documentation accurately.

• Comfortable using Google Maps and a smartphone.

• Able to communicate in Maltese, English and/or Italian. Maltese would be considered an advantage.

• A professional and courteous attitude when dealing with clients.

• Willingness to learn and assist with other reasonable duties when required.
