Chief Security Officer

Mercury Towers Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Chief Security Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.

OVERVIEW:

The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for implementing the overall security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization’s facilities and the security of property and assets. Other duties include, but are not limited to, safety direction, quality assurance, planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the security team during normal and emergency operations and training. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducts regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps
• Implements staff training and establishes operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events
• Manages and maintains systems, alarms, and other physical security measures
• Delivers education programs and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues
• Leads and direct significant investigation and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials or agencies
• Enforce and monitor safety measures and security protocols
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the company’s security protocol
• Handles complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others
• Direct and control the security team during normal and emergency operations and training
• Provide assistance to tenants vendors, employees and visitors in a courteous & professional manner
• Implement and maintain health and safety standards
• Performs other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of five years of managerial experience
• Preference will be given to those who have police experience
• Must have demonstrated the ability to lead a diverse team of security personnel
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people of all levels and backgrounds are essential
• Strong organizational and management skills are must
• Knowledge of experience with physical security systems (hardware and software) considered a plus
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to communicate in the Maltese and English languages.
