Sales Assistant

Job Description

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Assistant to join our team. To be predominantly based in our Mosta shop however not limited to Mosta shop only (we also have a store in Qormi). The position is full-time (40 hours per week including Saturdays). The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, organizing merchandise, and maintaining a clean and orderly store. The candidate must be able to speak both Maltese and English fluently, work independently and closely with other staff members to ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers with their purchases, providing product information and recommendations as required.

• Operate cash registers and handle financial transactions accurately.

• Stock shelves, racks, and displays with merchandise, ensuring all products are properly priced and labelled.

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store.

• Receive, unpack, and price new merchandise.

• Assist with inventory management, including conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies.

• Participate in training sessions and other professional development activities as required.

Qualifications and skills:

• The ability to speak fluently in both Maltese and English language is a must. Spoken & written English must be at an advanced level.

• Prior experience in a retail or customer service environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• A flare for marketing and decoration to keep the shop always looking beautiful.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software.

Education and experience:

• Relevant work experience in a retail or customer service environment.
