Head of Commercial (FMCG)

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Commercial to lead the commercial function across this large retail operation (FMCG).

The Role

• The Head of Commercial will lead and develop the commercial function of the company.
• You will be responsible for creating and executing the company's commercial strategy to drive sustainable growth.
• You will oversee category management to improve sales, profitability and customer value.
• You will build and strengthen partnerships with both local and international suppliers.
• You will lead pricing, promotional planning, range optimisation and merchandising initiatives to maximise commercial performance.
• You will improve the space productivity and supporting omni-channel growth across the business.
• You will develop and lead a high-performing commercial team while promoting a people centric culture based on accountability, integrity and teamwork.
• You will help the company achieve its vision of becoming Malta's leader in the food & beverage industry.

Requirements

• Candidates should have at least five years' commercial leadership experience within retail, food/beverage(must come with FMCG experience)
• Strong expertise in category management, supplier negotiations, pricing, promotions, merchandising and sales and margin growth is essential.
• Experience working with both local and international suppliers, together with a solid understanding of the Maltese retail market, is highly desirable.
