Our client is looking to recruit a Country Sales Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the Director, the chosen candidate will:
Recruit, select, and retain high-potential sales talent
Onboard, train, coach, and continuously develop new and existing sales team members
Build and maintain a high-performance, motivated, and supportive team culture
Design and manage incentive schemes and performance management processes
Oversee HR-related activities including holiday planning, performance reviews, and workforce planning
Develop, implement, and continuously optimize route-to-market plans based on customer segmentation and visit frequency
Manage key accounts and wholesalers, including negotiation and deal closure
Prepare commercial offers and resolve day-to-day operational issues with partners
Lead annual commercial negotiations, agreeing on pricing, terms, and conditions
Drive in-store execution excellence, including assortment development, cooler and display placement, and activation programs (POS/POP)
Identify and develop new business opportunities and partnerships
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and stakeholders, including authorities and NGOs where relevant
Provide regular market intelligence, including competitor activity, pricing, and trends, and escalate insights appropriately
Support acquisition of new customers and expansion of distribution coverage
Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for volume, revenue, and distribution
Prepare and execute monthly and quarterly distribution, cooler, and display placement plans
Develop and implement the annual business plan for Malta
Ensure continuous growth in market presence and in-store execution standards
Drive in-store business development, including assortment expansion and visibility improvements
Ensure perfect store execution across all channels
Coordinate promotional activities and trade marketing initiatives
Monitor execution quality and ensure alignment with brand standards
Coordinate daily operations with internal departments in Malta and Mother country
Ensure smooth execution of commercial and supply chain processes
Align local execution with regional strategies and priorities
Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of sales activities
Ensure proper use and upkeep of company assets (tablet, phone, etc.)
Prepare regular performance updates and business reviews
Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and internal policies
Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and cleanliness of company vehicles
Transport samples and materials safely and responsibly
Requirements
Ability to work in a structured working environment
Holding strong analytical skills
Education and Experience
Fluent Maltese and English written and oral communication is a must
Experience in FMCG in Malta is must (international network is given preference), holding a good network of Local retail chains
Well conversed in Microsoft
