Our client is looking for a Part 145 Deputy Safety Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the Accountable Manager, the chosen candidate will be responsible to:

  • Facilitate the process of identifying potential hazards;
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to evaluate the potential impact of identified hazards;
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks.;
  • Oversee the implementation of actions designed to mitigate risks as specified in the safety action plan,
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of these actions, ensuring compliance and making adjustments as necessary,
  • If action follow-up falls under the compliance monitoring function, ensure proper coordination and handover,
  • Provide periodic reports on safety performance to the Safety Review Board, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas of concern,
  • Ensure the maintenance and accessibility of all safety management documentation, including policies, procedures, and records of incidents and corrective actions,
  • Ensure that safety training programs are available and meet acceptable standards,
  • Provide advice and guidance on safety matters to all levels of the organization,
  • Ensure that training programs are continuously updated based on feedback and lessons learned from incidents.,
  • Initiate and follow up on internal investigations of safety occurrences and incidents,
  • Ensure thorough documentation and analysis of each investigation, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions,
  • Establish a system for gathering feedback from maintenance incidents and issues,
  • Integrate feedback into the continuation training program to ensure continuous improvement,
  • Establish regular meetings with the Accountable Manager to review the effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS),
  • Discuss any assessed risks or occurrences that are not being adequately addressed, ensuring,
  • Regularly report to the Accountable Manager on safety-related matters, ensuring they are informed of significant issues, trends, and the status of ongoing safety initiatives.
Requirements
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • Adequate language and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • This position requires occasional travel to various maintenance sites and regulatory bodies.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation/Safety related field
  • 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
  • In-depth knowledge of EASA/FAA Part 145 regulations and safety management systems.
  • A relevant engineering or technical degree (aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionics or other studies that are relevant to the maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components), or an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority.
  • Thorough knowledge of MOE and safety policy objectives.
