Our client is looking for a Production Manager who would be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production department, ensuring all projects are completed efficiently, to the required quality standards, and within the agreed production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Production Coordination: Oversee and coordinate all daily production activities, ensuring work is progressing according to schedule.
  • Production Planning & Allocation: Plan, prioritise and allocate production work to the relevant teams and operators.
  • Team Supervision: Ensure all employees understand their daily responsibilities and that production targets are achieved.
  • Order Prioritisation: Review incoming orders and determine production priorities based on deadlines and installation schedules.
  • Material Preparation: Prepare and allocate the necessary materials required for production.
  • Material Inspection & Approval: Inspect slabs and materials prior to production, assessing scratches, chips, cracks or other imperfections, and make decisions on whether production should proceed or alternative solutions are required.
  • Production Decision Making: Make technical and operational decisions regarding production quality and material suitability.
  • Quality Control: Monitor production quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure Seamless quality standards are maintained.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate closely with the Sales, Logistics and Installation departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
  • Operations Meetings: Participate in weekly Operations Meetings, providing production updates, discussing ongoing projects, identifying bottlenecks and ensuring agreed action points are implemented.
  • Implementation of Procedures: Ensure all production procedures and operational changes agreed during meetings are effectively communicated and followed by the production team.
  • Machinery Knowledge & Operation: Maintain a good understanding of all production machinery and be capable of programming or operating equipment when required, including:
  • CNC Machine
  • Waterjet Machine
  • Edge Polisher
  • Other production equipment as required.
  • Technical Support: Assist machine operators with programming, troubleshooting and production optimisation where necessary.
  • Machine Performance Monitoring: Monitor machine utilisation and coordinate maintenance requirements to minimise downtime.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all production is carried out safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow efficiency and production processes.
  • Staff Leadership: Supervise production staff, provide guidance, resolve day-to-day operational issues and maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Production Floor Organisation: Ensure production areas remain organised, clean and efficient at all times.
  • Stock Control: Monitor stock levels of production materials and communicate any shortages or procurement requirements.
  • Operational Performance: Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute towards achieving the company's operational objectives.
  • Waste Reporting: Monitor and report production waste on a daily basis through the designated group chat, ensuring accurate reporting and promoting continuous waste reduction initiatives.
  • Light Machinery Maintenance: Carry out routine light maintenance on production machinery, including basic inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments, while coordinating with the Maintenance Department for major repairs or servicing to minimise downtime.

  • Excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects while maintaining out client's high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
