Role Overview
The Head of Commercial will lead and manage the respective teams, driving overall growth strategies to enhance market share and revenue. Reporting to the General Manager, this role involves planning, organising, and directing the commercial related departments (Sales, Marketing, Brand) to align with the company’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong track record in sales growth, brand development, and market expansion within the FMCG industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement innovative sales and marketing strategies to enhance brand positioning and revenue growth
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire the Sales and Marketing teams to achieve business targets
Market Expansion: Identify and capitalise on market opportunities, ensuring sustainable business growth
Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial targets, and resource allocation to optimise profitability
Collaboration: Work closely with international brand contacts to align marketing initiatives with global strategies
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in management is preferred
Experience: Over 5 years in sales and marketing, with a number of years in senior roles within the FMCG sector
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset
Communication Skills: Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners
Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding leadership persona with strong negotiation, and people management skills
Organisation: Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Self-Motivated: A proactive approach with the ability to drive initiatives independently
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess challenges and develop effective solutions
