A reputable client of ours, specialising in the Financial and Corporate sector is looking to onboard a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team of professionals:

Duties:

  • Provide proactive legal advice and support to senior management and business units.
  • Oversee and manage all legal aspects of the firm’s operations, including transactional, deal and contract matters, as well as liaise with the AMLRO, and risk officer.
  • Together with the CEO, develop and implement the legal strategy aligned with the firm’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and strategic advantage for clients.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice on complex legal issues related to transactions, regulatory matters, and industry-specific challenges.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing high-level legal counsel and support.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating a deep understanding of their business needs and industry challenges.
  • Ensure the firm’s operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Implement robust corporate governance frameworks and practices.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review transactional documents and complex commercial agreements.
  • Collaborate in managing the legal department budget, and prepare and present legal reports to senior management.
  • Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, collaborating with external counsel and experts as needed, and mitigate legal risks and liabilities effectively.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years PQE in Corporate and Commercial law; This is a non negotiable reuirement.
  • Extensive experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing transactional documents and complex commercial agreements
  • Familiarity with international legal frameworks and cross-border transactions
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Previous experience in the yachting industry would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, mainly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and Experience
  • Must hold a Degree in Law (or equivalent), and be locally warranted
