Legal Advisor

Our client, a reputable group of companies in the hospitality, intellectual property and construction sector is looking to recruit a Legal Advisor to join their Legal team. 

Responsibilities:

• Providing legal guidance and drafting comprehensive memoranda and opinions for group companies and company boards, ensuring alignment with legal and statutory obligations.
• Drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements, conducting thorough legal analysis and research on pertinent issues relevant to the Group's operations.
• Offering counsel, preparing memoranda, strategizing, and advocating for corporate governance, CSR, and ESG initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations to advance the Group's interests in these areas.
• Advising on company secretarial responsibilities, financing, capital market transactions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Listing Authority, MFSA, and Registry of Companies.
• Developing and managing systems for organizing and maintaining legal databases, contracts, licenses, and other legal documents.
• Proactively guiding Group operations to comply with applicable laws and regulations, with a focus on ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Conducting operational reviews, evaluating activities, and making recommendations to enhance the Group's operations.
• Providing advice and recommendations on legal interpretation and application to Group Companies, considering legal developments.
• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
• Contributing to the overall legal function of the Group and undertaking additional legal responsibilities as directed by the Chief Legal Officer.
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the company.

• Qualification in Law and valid practicing license. Possession of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field would be advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese.
• Adept at maintaining courteous and professional communication with internal and external contacts across various platforms, including phone, in-person, and electronic channels.
• Ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently, within a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
• Prior proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
