Junior Legal Counsel

As a Junior Legal Counsel at Melita, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the company operates at the forefront of compliance, regulation, and innovation. Key Responsibilities

• Advising on regulatory and legal issues across local and EU jurisdictions. 
• Assisting with the preparation and implementation of regulatory reports. 
• Drafting, reviewing, and updating legal documents, including terms and policies. 
• Providing clear legal guidance to various departments. 
• Monitoring and analysing developments in legal frameworks to ensure compliance. 
• Representing the company in external engagements. 
• Contributing to the team’s objective of promoting excellence and maintaining a positive company image. 
• Supporting the team as required. 

Job requirements

• Qualified in Law in a EU jurisdiction and ideally obtained a warrant to practise law, if the warrant is still not achieved your application will still be considered.  
• A solid understanding of EU law, with knowledge of Competition Law, IT Law, Financial or Cybersecurity Law being an asset. 
• Exposure to Electronic Communications is a plus. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. 
• Fluency in English (additional Maltese or any other European languages are an advantage).
