We are looking for a motivated Junior Lawyer with an interest in real estate and construction law to join the team. The successful candidate will assist in providing legal support on property and construction matters, contribute to transaction processes, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their negotiation skills, gain hands-on experience in property and construction law, and work on multiple projects under guidance from senior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Support: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements including purchase, lease, financing, development, and construction contracts under supervision.
• Due Diligence Assistance: Support legal assessments on property acquisitions to identify risks and ensure compliance.
• Legal Guidance: Provide preliminary analysis and advice on legal obligations, potential liabilities, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Transaction Support: Aid in managing property closings and ensure documentation aligns with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and liaise with senior lawyers, external counsel, and regulatory authorities as required.
• Industry Awareness: Keep up to date with changes in property and construction law and assist senior colleagues in providing guidance to the business.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Law degree with a warrant to practice law in Malta.
• Experience: 1 year of experience in legal practice, ideally with exposure to real estate or construction matters.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly present legal information and ask relevant questions to senior colleagues.
• Interpersonal Skills: Willingness to learn, collaborate effectively, and build professional relationships.
• Technical Skills: Foundational drafting, analytical, and research capabilities related to property and construction law.
• Organisation: Ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet deadlines with guidance.
• Self-Motivated: Eager to learn, take initiative, and support senior team members.
• Problem-Solving: Open to identifying potential issues and contributing to practical solutions with supervision.

• Working Hours: Standard office hours from 09:00 to 18:00, including a one-hour break and shorter hours on selected Fridays during the summer.
