Junior Lawyer

Role Overview

The Junior Lawyer will support the legal team in providing a broad range of legal services across various practice areas. This role offers exposure to diverse legal matters, enabling the successful candidate to develop their professional expertise while working within a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Legal Support: Assist with a variety of legal matters, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and professional standards.
• Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research, review legislation and case law, and provide well-founded legal analysis to support client matters and internal projects.
• Drafting and Documentation: Prepare, review, and amend contracts, legal opinions, correspondence, corporate documents, and other legal instruments as required.
• Client Assistance: Support senior lawyers in advising clients, preparing legal documentation, and maintaining high standards of client service.
• Court and Regulatory Matters: Assist with filings, submissions, and interactions with courts, government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders where necessary.
• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the legal team to contribute to departmental objectives and ensure the efficient delivery of legal services.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to expand legal knowledge and enhance professional skills.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Law degree and a valid warrant to practise law in Malta.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of legal experience within a law firm, corporate environment, public authority, or professional services setting.
• Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is considered an asset.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English, written and spoken.
• Communication Skills: Strong drafting, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable working with legal research tools and digital systems.
• Organisation: Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Self-Motivated: Proactive, professional, and eager to develop within the legal profession.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, with a practical approach to resolving legal issues and challenges.
