Laferla is currently seeking a Legal, Compliance & HR Officer to be responsible for providing legal, regulatory, compliance, and HR advice and support to various functions within the Group as required.

The employee will be responsible for ensuring that all relevant rules, laws, and regulations are addressed. Moreover, the role will entail the implementation of the proper processes to reflect such policies and monitor compliance accordingly.

Responsibilities:

  • Remain up-to-date and proactively ensure compliance with all local laws, regulations, and policies, minimizing risk to the Group, including providing ongoing advice related to the impact of regulations and required actions.
  • Support management in identifying areas of potential risk.
  • Providing all departments and management with appropriate advice and support regarding:
    • The interpretation of laws and regulations.
    • Drafting and review of agreements.
    • Drafting and review of policies and procedures.
    • Drafting, reviewing, and timely submission of documents and reports, as necessary.
    • Drafting and review of terms and conditions and other marketing material as required.
    • Raising awareness and dissemination of information on legal and regulatory updates and issues.
    • Conducting periodic internal reviews and audits to test ongoing compliance.
  • Responsible for the prevention of AML/CFT, acting as an assistant to the MLRO for the Group and related requirements, and co-ordinate related initiatives including in-house training and awareness sessions.
  • Regular review and amendment of policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date with all relevant rules, laws, and regulations and ensure that proper processes and controls are in place to reflect and manage such policies.
  • Support the delivery and maintenance of the Group’s projects in one or more markets, as required.
  • Carry out legal, regulatory, and compliance gap assessments/analyses across the relevant jurisdictions in order to correctly advise the relevant teams on the implementation of solutions and products.
  • Interpret and implement HR laws, regulations, and policies, and act as a liaison between management and other employees to manage HR-related issues.
  • Manage the organisation’s vacation leave and sick leave.
  • Draft and publish job descriptions for new vacancies and be involved in the interview process for selecting employees.
  • Represent the Group in legal and regulatory matters and projects and interact with the various authorities and other entities and third parties, as required.
  • Liaise with external lawyers to ensure proper management and representation in all matters involving the Group.
  • Carrying out in-house training, assistance, and awareness sessions on key areas which impact or are likely to impact the Group’s activities.
  • Any other tasks and duties assigned by the Group from time to time, including handling international business, regulatory, and compliance matters in relation to the Group’s international activities.


Professional/Academic Requirements:

  • Law degree (Bachelor of Laws / LL.B.) as a minimum.
  • Experience in compliance within a regulated industry would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret regulatory and legislative frameworks.
  • Good drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Data Protection and AML/CFT standards and legislation.

Personal Skills Required:

  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written). Fluency in other languages will be considered an asset.
  • Process-oriented, analytical thinking, focused mindset with good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Quick learner and able to work on own initiative and within a team.
  • Comfortable working professionally with numerous teams and at all levels.
  • Able to take on board added responsibility, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organised, efficient, and able to manage own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Essential to have a confident, enquiring, and enthusiastic nature and be flexible to embrace a very dynamic and varied role.

Conditions:
  • Salary Range: €22,000 - €26,000 per annum (gross)
  • Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
