Claims Handler - Personal and Commercial Lines (reporting to the General Manager)

• Manage all claims current and future to successful conclusion • Negotiate settlement of claims in a proactive & cost-effective manner on behalf of our clients

• Monitor insurance claims to ensure they are settled equitably for both the client and the insurer. • Create a claims database and ensure that this updated on a daily basis

• Provide a high-quality service to clients and Third Parties and ensure customer satisfaction through the provision of an excellent service

• Preparing reports for superiors

• Meet clients to discuss their insurance requirements, source quotations and bind cover on clients' behalf, issue and check policy documentation, effect renewals and mid-term adjustments on behalf of clients

• Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learn new skills, and receive technical assistance

• Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled, including but not limited to the completion of appropriate forms.

• Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies

• Research policies from different insurers

• Select company that offers type of coverage requested by client to underwrite policy.

• Arrange insurance cover

• Negotiate the best deals on behalf of clients

• Deal with renewals - issuance of notices and follow up

• Collect any premiums

• General administrative duties

• Liaising with other insurance professionals

• Selling various types of insurance policies to businesses and individuals on behalf of insurance companies.

• Any other duties that may be required by Management
