Claims Handler – Personal & Commercial Lines
(Reporting to the General Manager)
Key Responsibilities
• Manage personal and commercial insurance claims from notification through to settlement.
• Liaise with clients, insurers, loss adjusters, surveyors, legal representatives, and other relevant parties.
• Negotiate and follow up claims to achieve timely and fair settlements on behalf of clients.
• Maintain and update claims records and databases.
• Ensure all claim documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within required timeframes.
• Keep clients informed throughout the claims process and provide a high standard of customer service.
• Prepare claims reports and updates for management.
• Assist with the investigation and assessment of claims and gather supporting documentation where required.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Attend training and industry-related events as required.
• Perform general administrative duties related to claims handling.
• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by Management from time to time.
Requirements
• Previous experience in insurance claims handling or a similar role.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of personal and commercial insurance claims processes would be considered an asset.
