EF Education First in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a full-time basis.

Location: Finance, Legal & Business Intelligence St. Julians, Malta

Overview:
The Malta Payroll team is recruiting 2 Payroll Specialists to start in September 2024.

As a Payroll Specialist at EF, you will work in an international and dynamic environment with a strong scope for development. The Payroll Specialist reports directly to the Payroll Manager and will work closely with other functional areas and other EF organizations around the world. The Payroll Specialist will be encouraged to proactively identify and initiate internal improvements as well as to broaden your responsibilities beyond the job description. EF offers an exciting opportunity to learn the procedures and legislation for weekly and monthly payroll processes, in several countries.

The role:

  • To ensure the timely and accurate delivery of payroll-related reporting for several countries on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Manage payroll process for in-house and outsourced payrolls
  • HR Administration tasks to support employee’s life cycle
  • Process, prepare and submit changes in the payroll (e.g. new starters, leavers, salary increases, statutory maternity pay, bonuses and timesheets)
  • Manage changes to the payroll related to secondary benefits such as pension, health insurance and other mandatory regulations
  • Prepare and submit Payments of Salaries, taxes and social fees
  • Liaising with (international) staff and managers to resolve queries
  • Payroll Accounting: Prepare and upload payroll journals into the Financials system
  • Initiate and implement continuous improvements related to payroll processes
  • Assist in ad hoc tasks and various projects (e.g. implementation of new payroll software)
  • Travels on an occasional basis.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, HR or related areas
  • 1-2 years of relevant working experience in payroll
  • Strong analytical and English communication skills
  • Fluency in one additional language is preferred, e.g. French or Italian
  • Discrete communicator with an eye for details and deadlines
  • Self-starting and pro-active, positive attitude
  • Proven creative mindset and a passion for change
  • Responsible and committed to working together with team members
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Office is a plus
  • International experience (travel, education, working) is a plus
  • Most important, you can identify yourself with the organization and have the right drive and ambition to make a (international) career within EF.
