Role Overview
The Human Resources Manager will take ownership of the Group’s human resources function, overseeing both strategic direction and day-to-day operations. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will ensure that people practices are aligned with business objectives while maintaining full compliance with Maltese employment legislation. The successful individual will act as a trusted advisor to management, lead HR initiatives across the employee lifecycle, and support the development of a high-performing and engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Operations & Administration: Oversee all routine HR activities, ensuring smooth delivery of processes including payroll coordination and employee data administration.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance processes, development planning, and exit procedures in a structured and consistent manner.
  • Policy & Compliance: Design, review, and implement HR policies and procedures in line with current employment law and organisational requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Employee Relations & Advisory: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee-related matters, providing guidance to management and supporting the resolution of workplace issues in a fair and professional manner.
  • Development & Engagement: Lead initiatives related to learning, training, and employee engagement, while also managing work permit, single permit, and TCN documentation processes in line with regulatory standards.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Education: A degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years’ experience in a senior HR role, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required to succeed in this role. 
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to clearly convey information, influence stakeholders, and provide sound HR guidance at all levels.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Confident in building relationships across teams, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of HR systems, employment legislation, payroll coordination, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to prioritise multiple demands and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Self-Motivated: Proactive, resilient, and able to work independently while taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of handling complex employee matters with sound judgement and a solutions-focused approach.
