Whilst reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Food Runner is responsible for supporting the service team and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food to guests dining at Mykonos by Yiamas. The Food Runner will help create a smooth and efficient dining experience by working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team. Maintaining a professional and approachable appearance is of utmost importance. He/she is to be part of the service team by performing food running and support duties.

Duties

  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure all dishes are presented correctly and match the order before serving
  • Assist with setting up tables by preparing linens, silverware and glasses
  • Support waitstaff by clearing and resetting tables quickly and efficiently
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
  • Provide friendly and courteous interaction with guests when delivering food
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service stations and dining areas
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and dismantling the dining area, and restocking supplies as required
  • Adhere to the internal standard operating procedures to be followed by all front of house personnel
  • Comply with all employer guidelines and legal requirements for health and safety, hygiene, fire safety, licensing and employment
  • Perform assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with work requirements

Work Schedule

20 hours a week split as required by restaurant hours

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends/holidays as required

Experience

Minimum experience of 1 year in the food catering industry as a food runner or similar role will be considered an asset

Knowledge and Skills Required

Professional appearance and behaviour

Able to proficiently communicate in English, additional languages are welcome especially Greek

Knowledge of Greek cuisine and culture is a plus

Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

Must be self-motivated and organised

Excellent ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order delivery
