Job Description

The Food & Beverage Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional first impression for guests by greeting, seating, and assisting them throughout their dining experience. The role ensures efficient management of reservations, guest flow, and waiting lists while maintaining excellent customer service standards. The Food & Beverage Host works closely with the restaurant management and service team to maximise guest satisfaction and contribute to the smooth operation of the restaurant.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome all guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner; 

• Escort guests to their tables and present menus where applicable; 

• Manage reservations, walk-in guests, and waiting lists efficiently;

• Coordinate table allocation to maximise restaurant capacity while maintaining service standards; 

• Communicate effectively with the Restaurant Manager, Supervisors, and service team regarding table availability and guest requirements; 

• Answer telephone calls professionally and manage reservation enquiries; 

• Respond to guest questions regarding menus, facilities, promotions, and restaurant services; 

• Assist guests with special requests, celebrations, accessibility requirements, or dietary needs by communicating these to the relevant team members; 

• Monitor the restaurant entrance and reception area, ensuring it remains clean, organised, and welcoming at all times; 

• Maintain accurate reservation records using the designated reservation system;

• Inform management of VIP arrivals, guest complaints, or service recovery opportunities;

• Handle guest concerns politely and escalate issues to management where appropriate; 

• Support the Food & Beverage team during busy service periods when required;

• Promote the Company's guest service standards and contribute to creating memorable guest experiences;

• Follow Company policies, health and safety procedures, hygiene standards, and data protection requirements;

• Maintain a professional appearance and comply with the Company's uniform and grooming standards;

• Attend training sessions and departmental meetings as required;

• Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by management that are consistent with the role.
