Diar il-Bniet is a renowned restaurant and agritourism destination in Dingli, Malta, celebrated for its authentic Maltese cuisine and warm hospitality. Our Local Deli is an extension of this vision, offering freshly prepared meals and artisanal products made using locally sourced ingredients from our own estates.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Deli Chef to lead our deli kitchen operations and ensure the consistent delivery of fresh, high-quality food in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on role suited for an individual who enjoys food preparation, takes pride in quality and presentation, and can work independently while maintaining excellent standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce deli items including ftiras, sandwiches, wraps, salads, platters, and daily specials. 

• Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to company quality standards. 

• Manage daily mise en place and preparation of fresh ingredients. 

• Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements to management. 

• Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO) and minimise food waste. 

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen and food preparation areas. 

• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations. 

• Assist in developing new menu items and seasonal offerings. 

• Train and support kitchen assistants and new team members when required. 

• Ensure efficient service during busy periods while maintaining food quality and consistency.

 

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role

• Food Handling License 

• Passion for food and Maltese gastronomy

• Strong work ethic with attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team

• Flexible with working hours, including weekends and public holidays

• Must be punctual, reliable, and organised
