Join us at InterContinental Malta as we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bar Manager to oversee the operations of our vibrant and popular bar. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, excellent leadership skills, and a strong understanding of bar operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Together with the Outlet Managers, and under the guidance of the Food & Beverage Manager, this role is to ensure a smooth running of the outlets.
  • Train, schedule, and motivate bar staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Assist in continuous improvement and use all necessary tools to operate the Department in an efficient manner, reaching the highest levels of standards of guest, as well as employee satisfaction.
  • Controls direct financial responsibility for all outlets to include cover and revenue forecasting, labour forecasting, monitoring food and beverage costs, as well as control all bottom-line expenses.
  • Prepare training program for all team members and its implementation.
  • Understand the opening and closing procedures for all outlets.
  • Develop and update drink menus, ensuring a diverse and appealing selection.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock.

Skills and experience:

  • Knowledge in IT/Micros POS and systems: Test run, optimize, feedback and train, as needed, all team members on operating the system.
  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent English both written and verbally, any other language ability will be an advantage.
