The Xara Collection in Malta currently has a unique opportunity for a Banqueting Chef de Partie to join their award-winning Kitchen team at the Xara Lodge.

The group’s diversified portfolio comprises the award-winning fine dining de Mondion perched on Mdina’s bastions, the cozy al fresco Trattoria located in the palace’s courtyard, catering services, and the Xara Lodge, an events center just outside Mdina. The impact you will have:

• Our Banqueting team delights our guests by preparing amazing dishes for our discerning events guests.
• You will serve high-quality food for our functions and events to a high standard and volume.
• As a Banqueting Chef de Partie, you will be required to lead your section in the kitchen under the supervision of the Chef tournant and sous chefs, ensuring it is fully prepared for service times and that the production, preparation, and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times.
• You will have a true desire towards producing authentic and beautifully presented dishes that will amaze our guests.
• You will assist in the smooth running of sections in the kitchen and will help promote a professional, hospitable, secure, and friendly working environment.
• You will assess quality control and adhere to service standards and guide and train the junior members of the team as well as collect the daily feedback and report issues as they arise.

About you:

• As our ideal candidate, you have a passion for hospitality and attention to detail
• You have a previous experience in working in a multi-outlet kitchen operation and the ability to run designated sections including day to day ordering
• Commitment to teamwork and excellent communicational skills
• Energy and enthusiasm for learning and developing
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and operate in a changeable environment
• Ability to produce own work in accordance with a deadline and to estimate the daily production needs.
• You have a full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production, and presentation standards
• You have flexible working hours subject to the demands of the business
• Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, storage, and sanitation.
