Senior Officer Ii (Support Services)

The Environment Resources Authority in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Senior Officer Ii (Support Services) to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job details:
In the role of Senior Officer II (Support Services), the employee is responsible for assisting the line superior in managing functions and deliverables under the area of responsibility in line with the aims and objections of the Authority. 

• Develop, review and evaluate, in collaboration with the line superior the strategic plan for Support Services
• Support the achievement of the Business Plan and organizational objectives through effective administration
• Develop, monitor and evaluate the cleaning and maintenance workflow calendars
• Manage, support and be responsible for employees within the team including handymen, cleaners, security, drivers, service providers and all other personnel which will be assigned from time to time
• Plan, coordinate and ensure the implementation of the general repair, maintenance, general cleaning, gardening, landscaping, health and safety and security within the premises and any other property of the Authority
• Prepares and circulates estimates on material costs for remedial works and raises requests for quotations
• Raise recommendations for remedial works to be undertaken
• Manage all repairs and maintenance, preventive maintenance and any related intervention requests raised by the Authority officials, and processing such requests as necessary
• Ensure the timely implementation of the related remedial cleaning, security and maintenance works
• Prioritize, assign and contribute work to employees within the Unit and any approved work to the service providers
• Follow-up works in progress, and monitor the efficiency and quality of work carried out by the employees or service providers
• Ensure that all orders and payments are checked, authorized and recorded and full adherence with the public procurement and other financial regulations are adhered to
• Monitor work carried out by external contractors and make sure that external contractors are not unattended when conducting works within the Authority’s restricted area
• Oversee and maintain Health and Safety, Security and proper upkeeping of the main premises and other property that falls under the responsibility of the Authority
• Respond to and pro-actively secure any Health & Safety matters, hazards or associated risks
• Ensure that all fixed and movable assets are well maintained, clean, safe and secure at all times
• Investigates and writes reports on accidents and damages
• Conduct risk assessments and respond to emergency calls when requested or deemed necessary.

Job entry requirements
Qualifications:
A graduate Diploma in Social Studies (Occupational Health & Safety) MQF Level 5 or comparable qualification as recognized by MFHEA. All foreign non-Maltese qualifications which are not accompanied by an evaluation from MFHEA will not be taken into consideration.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years working experience in support services performing similar work.
