HSSE Assistant

Our Client, a company who manages cargo and shipping operations in Malta is looking for an HSSE Assistant to join their team. Reporting to the HSSE Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Maintain and organise HSSE, security, and operational records and documentation
• Process CMRs, ship waste reports, attendance sheets, gate passes, and utility data
• Update and manage certifications for staff, machinery, lifting equipment, and fire safety systems
• Issue and manage employee and contractor access cards
• Retrieve and provide CCTV footage or information when required
• Monitor PPE and safety equipment stock levels and arrange procurement when needed
• Support inspections, drills, compliance checks, and HSSE activities across vessels and machinery
• Liaise with internal teams, port workers, supervisors, and external stakeholders
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate data in internal systems and Excel

Working Hours: Monday - Friday: 07:00 - 15:30 / 08:00 - 16:00

Requirements

• Previous experience in HSSE, logistics, or administrative roles will be considered an advantage
• Must have an excellent level of written and verbal English
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general office software
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with port operations, safety procedures, or compliance documentation is beneficial
