Our client, a leading local aviation company, is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their growing team. Reporting to the head of the department, the chosen candidate will be responsible to:
Assist in ensuring that the company adheres to the Occupational Health and Safety Authority Act, relevant regulations, industry standards, and codes;
Conduct regular routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and equipment to assess compliance with safety standards and identify potential hazards;
Support compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety risk assessments to help the Health and Safety Manager make informed decisions;
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety, including inspection reports and incident records;
Assist in complying with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring health and safety inspection reports are compiled and maintained;
Evaluate subcontractors' risk assessments and safe work method statements to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) documentation requirements;

Assist in providing OHS training and competency development for company personnel to enhance awareness and adherence to safety protocols;
Offer support to the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager and provide advice on HSE-related issues;
Promote incident prevention to safeguard the well-being of employees and visitors by identifying and mitigating potential risks;
Perform any additional duties assigned by the HSE Manager in alignment with the organization's safety goals.
Requirements
Ability to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Proficiency in creating, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and legal requirements.
Experience in conducting safety training sessions and workshops for employees to increase awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey safety information to employees, management, and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills to address safety challenges and recommend effective solutions.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
OSHA Certification: Preferred or required, demonstrating knowledge of OSHA regulations.
At least 2 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a similar industry or environment.
First Aid/CPR Certification: Basic first aid and CPR certification is often required.
