Health & Co, Malta is looking to recruit a Pharmacist to join their team on a full-time basis. The right candidate must be enthusiastic and motivated, customer-focused and remain up to date with the advances in the pharmaceutical industry.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Compounding and dispensing medications as prescribed by physicians;
Checking dosage and ensuring that medicines are correctly & safely supplied and labeled;
Keeping a register of controlled drugs and Prescription-Only-Medicine (POM) for legal and stock control purposes;
Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures;
Liaising with physicians about prescriptions and short-dated medicines;
Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including but not limited to verifying order entries, safe storage and turnover of medicines;
Instructing customers on how and when to take prescribed medications;
Counseling and advising the public on the treatment of minor ailments and any adverse side effects of medicines or potential interactions with other medicines/treatments;
Selling health care and other products, including but not limited to skincare, toiletries and cosmetics;
Managing, supervising, and training pharmacy assistants and/or student interns;
Providing health check services, such as blood pressure and temperature monitoring.
Minimizing expired products – negotiating and exchanging goods with agents;
Working with patients on maintaining their general health, such as the use of nonprescription remedies, as well as the importance of nutrition and physical activity;
Organizing the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster;
Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues whilst offering information and advice;
Ensuring patients’ safety;
Performing other administrative tasks when needed;
Serving the customer with a smile.
Pharmacist Requirements:
Qualified pharmacist with a B.Pharm degree;
Valid EU Pharma License;
Ideally with experience as a retail community pharmacist;
Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands;
Great organizational skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language (other languages will be considered a plus).
