Senior Treasury Officer

Our client, a regulated European Bank specialising in cutting-edge industries like technology and digital advertising is looking for a Senior Treasury Officer. This position focuses primarily on foreign exchange activities, while also contributing to liquidity management, cash flow monitoring, treasury reporting, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute and process foreign exchange transactions, including spot, forward, and hedging activities.
• Monitor daily liquidity levels and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare treasury, liquidity, FX exposure, and funding reports for management.
• Perform treasury reconciliations and investigate discrepancies relating to cash movements and settlements.
• Support cash flow forecasting, funding analysis, and liquidity planning.
• Monitor counterparty exposures and treasury-related risk limits.
• Maintain relationships with banks and other financial counterparties.
• Assist in enhancing treasury processes, controls, and system improvements.
• Ensure compliance with AML, sanctions, and other regulatory requirements relating to treasury activities.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and ad hoc treasury projects.

Please note that this is an urgent vacancy with a short hiring timeline. As a result, we are currently seeking candidates already based in Malta who have the legal right to work without requiring a new work permit or a work permit transfer.

Requirements

• Good understanding of treasury operations, liquidity management, and FX products
• Knowledge of foreign exchange products, settlements, and hedging activities.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence preparing financial reports.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Education and Experience

• At least 2 years' experience in a treasury, finance, or foreign exchange
• Experience within a bank, financial institution, investment firm, or FX broker will be considered an asset.
• Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Management, or a related field.
