Malta Financial Services Authority is currently looking to recruit a Senior Analyst (Risk Management) to join their team on a full-time basis.

About Risk Management:
Risk Management is responsible for analysing and mitigating the risks within the MFSA. The Risk Management team is responsible for providing strategic input and direction about the risk appetite and ensuring that the defined risk appetite is compliant with the requirements set out by the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs). The Risk Management section is also responsible for ensuring that the internal processes and procedures of the MFSA comply with European Standards and offers recommendations on how these can be improved through risk and quality perspectives.

About Role:

  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of Risk Management programmes and services throughout the MFSA to support effective risk identification, mitigation, management, and reporting
  • Supporting alignment with section or department performance measures, standards, best practices, and overall MFSA directions
  • Providing support and advice on risk management frameworks, processes, controls, and tools, and assisting with reviews of programme, framework, process, reporting, and control effectiveness
  • Offering guidance in response to issues impacting department directions and contributing to evidence-based recommendations for problem resolution and improvement of methods to deliver programmes or services
  • Supporting the execution of strategies and tactics developed by MFSA leadership, and assisting in delivering programmes and services to achieve these strategies
  • Contributing to a sustainable, transparent, effective risk management process, considering the overall operational plans and priorities of the department
  • Promoting a culture of service excellence, teamwork, and a productive working environment
  • Assisting in the training and continued coaching of risk officers in each function, supporting performance reviews and addressing any performance or employee-related matters as needed
  • Supporting critical changes and fostering a collaborative, forward-thinking culture within the organisation
  • Helping to develop and manage relationships with stakeholders impacted by Risk Management programs
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of business continuity plans to ensure the organisation's operations can continue during and after any disruptions
  • Undertake other ad-hoc related duties as may be required by the Head/Deputy Head of Function from time to time and report on the outcome of such assignments as may be appropriate and necessary.

About You:
We are looking for candidates with a solid academic background in Risk Management or another related background.
The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level. You will also possess a minimum of five (5) years working in a similar role.

If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.

The chosen candidate is expected to be a confident individual who is flexible and proactive.
