Malta Financial Services Authority is currently looking to recruit a Junior Finance Officer to join their team on a part-time basis.

About Department:
The Finance function oversees and manages the finances of the Authority, supporting the various other functions within the Authority in all financial matters, including the preparation of timely management information, revenue collection, payments to suppliers and service providers, payroll and financial control and budgetary control.  The function also sets, monitors and improves the operation of the MFSA's financial control framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. It coordinates with the Statutory Auditors on the annual audit of the Authority's Financial Statements drawn up in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and is also responsible for the timely submission of required statutorily financial information to Parliament.

About Role:

  • Handling the travel process by ensuring adherence to the MFSA's travel procedure, preparing, processing and posting disbursements about such travel
  • Liaising with insurers and updating records on Excel with respect to Insurance Claims
  • Posting of payments and journal entries on the SAGE accounting system
  • Assist in reconciling Supplier Statements with Sage
  • Assist in Bank Reconciliations every month
  • Handling general administrative duties for the Operations Team, such as preparing Purchase Requisitions and Confirmation of Services
  • Assisting other team members in their workload, as necessary.


About you:
If you are looking for a part-time day job, are willing to work 20 hours per week and have qualifications in Accounting or a related subject at MQF Level 6, then this might be what you're looking for

If you do not have the necessary academic qualifications but have at least five (5) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
