About Fintech Supervision:
The FinTech Supervision Function within the Supervision Directorate of the MFSA is responsible for the supervision of the Virtual Financial Asset sector in Malta as well as providing cross-sectoral expertise on digital finance and FinTech-related policy and supervisory initiatives. The Function is also responsible for the development and implementation of the MFSA FinTech Strategy and Regulatory Sandbox.
The Role:
Within this role, you will be joining an analytical and multidisciplinary team of policy experts and supervisors. As a Junior Analyst in Grade 8, you will be expected to be involved in the following tasks:
Supporting the authorization and supervisory workstreams under the Virtual Financial Assets Act
Assisting a team of analysts with research and data analysis
Compiling supervisory information for statistical purposes
Coordinating with Supervisory Units, FIAU and Subject Persons
Other duties and tasks may be assigned by senior management
About You:
We are looking for candidates with solid academic backgrounds in Law, Finance, Accountancy, FinTech, Business Administration, Evidence-Based Management, and International Affairs and/or in a similar policy-oriented background or relevant experience.
The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC), or a widely recognized professional qualification at a comparable level. Possession of a post-graduate degree in a discipline relevant to the financial services sector would be considered an asset.
In the case that candidates do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but have at least five (5) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with them.
The following skill set is a must for this position:
The ability to multi-task and work on own initiative;
The ability to work in a team;
Have a good knowledge of Excel;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
Have the desire to learn.
Knowledge and/or experience in virtual assets and innovative technologies would be considered an asset.
