Head of Legal and Compliance

One of our clients is looking for a Head of Legal and Compliance to lead the team

Responsibilities :

• Act as the Compliance Officer, subject to approval from the MFSA.
• Fulfill Company Secretarial duties for the organization and selected Malta-registered entities within the group.
• Participate in Board and Committee meetings, presenting compliance updates and reports on regulatory issues.
• Research and analyze upcoming EU directives, regulations, and Maltese laws, evaluating their impact on business operations.
• Prepare internal reports and conduct gap analyses to monitor the organization’s regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies across all operations.
• Support management in evaluating controls, managing identified risks, and addressing emerging risks in daily activities.
• Oversee the Policy and Procedure Framework, ensuring organization-wide implementation and compliance.
• Draft and present compliance reports and memoranda to the Board of Directors.
• Provide legal guidance on matters including contracts, compliance regulations, and corporate governance.
• Manage a team of compliance and legal professionals, offering training and support as needed.
• Offer legal support and documentation preparation for Malta-based entities within the group.

• At least 3 years experience in a similar role

• Warranted Lawyer from the Malta Institution
• PQ'd or eligible to be PQ'd in Compliance
