Our Client is responsible for overseeing the gaming industry, ensuring that all activities are fair, transparent, and safe. They work to protect players, prevent illegal activities, and support a well-managed and sustainable gaming sector. 

Role Overview
This position sits within the Regulatory Supervision function and focuses on assessing the financial health and resilience of licensed operators. The role involves reviewing financial data, identifying potential risks, and supporting decision-making that ensures ongoing compliance, player protection, and financial sustainability across the sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Review and Analysis: Examine audited accounts, financial submissions, and supporting documentation from licensed entities, engaging directly with operators, auditors, and relevant stakeholders where needed.
  • Risk Monitoring and Assessment: Track and evaluate the financial position of licensees, including liquidity, capital structure, forecasts, and available funding sources to identify emerging risks.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare clear and timely analytical reports, highlighting findings, risk indicators, and actionable recommendations for senior management review.
  • Compliance and Oversight Support: Contribute to compliance reviews and supervisory activities, supporting broader regulatory checks and assisting with data analysis and extraction tasks as required.
  • Process Development and Advisory: Help design and improve internal procedures for identifying financial risks, while providing input and guidance to other teams on operator financial standing when requested.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field at MQF Level 6 or equivalent. Candidates with strong relevant experience may also be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Experience: Prior exposure to financial analysis, auditing, or regulatory environments will be considered an advantage, particularly within the gaming or financial services sectors.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written reporting skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and structured manner.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Confident in engaging with internal teams, external auditors, and licensed operators in a professional manner.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to manipulate and interpret financial data effectively.
  • Organisation: Strong ability to prioritise workload, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Self-Motivated: Proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in delivering high-quality work.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify financial risks, interpret data trends, and contribute to practical solutions and recommendations.
