Job Summary:
As the Finance Business Partner you will assist in directing the hotels financial operations and ensure the security of hotel assets. You will assist in the responsibility for all the hotel’s accounting and financial controls. Whilst promoting the desired work culture of Meliá Hotels International.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in providing financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of Hotel Business Plan, Budget and KPO’s (Goals Program).
• Assist in implementing and reviewing financial controls and policies.
• Assist in the analysis of financial and management reports.
• Assist in the design of internal reporting systems required by the department, the hotel and corporate office.
• Employ adequate internal control procedures to ensure correct authorization for payment procedures.
• Assist in the management of internal and external audits when they occur.
• Provide administrative support to Management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance.
• Conduct monthly inspections and tests to ensure all departments are complying with required procedures.
• Perform those duties required by the controls checklist issued by Regional Director of Finance.
• Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by the brand, generally accepted accounting practices, and as affected by local conditions.
• Assist in the review of operating equipment stores to avoid unnecessary/excessive purchases and to eliminate (or at least be aware) of obsolete slow moving items.
• Assist in ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis, review and approve those reconciliation’s.
• Assist in the preparation, manage and achieve the department’s budget.
What are we looking for?
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hotel accounting or audit with at least one year in an Assistant Controller or similar supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Knowledge of accounting management duties.
• Strong communication and customer relations skills.
• Leadership and Time management.
• Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of the Spanish Language will be highly regarded.
