Chief Financial Officer

Hili Ventures Limited in Malta is currently seeking to recruit a Chief Financial Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Your Role:
Based in Malta and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the shipping and engineering arm and making decisions based on its financial stability, working hand in hand with the holding company’s Chief Executive Officer and the leadership and finance functions of its subsidiaries.

Duties will include:

• The consolidation of the group’s financial statements
• Monitoring cash flow and financial performance of the holding company and its subsidiaries
• Discussing and promoting best practices, and producing strategic plans to improve the company’s overall financial health.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee its shipping and engineering holdings, which it is in the process of grouping together under one holding company. These comprise entities such as Carmelo Caruana Company (shipping & logistics) and Motherwell Bridge Industries (engineering) in Malta, Techniplus (engineering) in Morocco, STS Marine Solutions (ship-to-ship transfer of oil & gas worldwide) and Cobalt (container leasing) based in the UK, as well as Allcom (logistics and freight forwarding) in Poland.
• Review monthly and quarterly financial reports of the operating subsidiaries to help monitor processes and provide support in increasing revenue and cost optimisation across the various companies
• Help identify and analyse investment opportunities
• Prepare the annual financial report and other reports that might be required for discussion by the Chief Executive Officer and board of directors from time to time
• Ensure that the business complies with its statutory fiscal and corporate obligations as well as guide finance team members in managing their performance
• Providing appropriate feedback and mentoring.

• Qualified accountant with relevant work experience, preferably in an internationally-focused organisation
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions and a focus on interpreting
• Analysing and presenting data will be considered an asset
• Be a team player that takes ownership and accountability and demonstrates the ability to lead, motivate, inspire and manage small teams
• An eye for detail and strong organisational abilities are a must, together with excellent communication and presentation skills.
