Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant to the Finance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and a high level of integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Finance Manager in daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, statements, and invoices
  • Assist in preparing financial presentations for management meetings
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
  • Manage and track expenses, ensuring proper allocation and compliance
  • Assist with audits, both internal and external, by preparing required documentation
  • Help in the implementation and improvement of financial policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings and organizing files, as required.

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and financial management software, namely Sage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus
  • Prior experience in a similar role within Construction and Hospitality Industry.

 Work Environment: Office-based in St. Julian’s
