We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with people within an Airport environment, is willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the SkyParks Business Centre department.

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) aspects of the SkyParks II project during its development phase, ensuring that all systems are designed, installed, and optimised to achieve the highest performance standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with the SkyParks Project Management Team, design consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to drive the project to completion. Following the project’s completion, the role will transition into that of a Facilities Coordinator, where the focus will shift to the ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation of the building’s systems to ensure they continue to operate efficiently and effectively throughout their lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) design considerations for SkyParks II as provided.
  • Collaborate closely with SkyParks II MEP design consultants, as well as with the design teams of the main contractor and/or nominated sub-contractors, to review and enhance MEP detailed designs for optimal building performance.
  • Support the MEP design approval process and take ownership of its completion.
  • Develop proficiency in using AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and MS Office software.
  • Provide assistance to the BREEAM Coordinator or BREEAM Assessor as needed.
  • Review all technical literature and samples provided, raising any necessary clarification questions.
  • Oversee the installation of all MEP systems and become familiar with plant room layouts and component locations.
  • Lead and manage the handover process, organise all necessary documentation, and maintain a comprehensive project file with all handover certificates.
  • Monitor plant and equipment during the handover process and throughout the defects liability period, ensuring all defects are properly documented and addressed according to the contract.
  • Collect and analyse system performance data to ensure all systems are optimised as per design specifications.
  • Assist in drafting and negotiating maintenance agreements for all plant and equipment, whether with the installer or third-party service providers.

Following the completion of the project, the main responsibilities will be:

  • Manage the MEP systems of SkyParks Business Centre II.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems are functional, safe, and meet standards post-project completion.
  • Maintain the building, external areas, and all related systems to maximise satisfaction and minimise depreciation.
  • Supervise and implement technical services, including preventive maintenance and addressing faults.
  • Collect data and prepare reports on maintenance and technical matters.
  • Ensure employee and building user safety by adhering to health and safety requirements.
  • Assist the General Manager with daily departmental operations.
  • Promote a positive image of the company and maintain a clean environment.
  • Report and address any shortcomings immediately.
  • Comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Authority Act and related regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the company.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and their integration within large building projects
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • An ability to work unsupervised and working flexible hours when necessary
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental regulations

 The following would be considered an asset:

  • Previous experience in MEP design and/or installation in a mixed-use development
  • Experience in project management or experience working with design consultants and contractors
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering or a related field
  • BREEAM accreditation
