Maintenance Technician

Bajada New Energy in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Description:

Filtration and plumbing installers perform an essential role with Bajada New Energy, from the installation of reverse osmosis system, fitting faucets with attention to the client's requirements, solar water heaters, generic filtration systems, descaling equipment together with the installing of pipes and the water supply lines.

Responsibilities:  

• Assists with installing various domestic and commercial water filtration and treatment systems 
• Assists in repairing various systems or components including RO systems, faucets, water softeners, Descaling equipment and water filtration units 
• Assists with the installation and functional servicing to ensure a leakproof installation 
• Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure the availability of materials 
• Tests for leaks in new and repaired systems with pressurizing tests 
• Assists with measuring, cutting, threading, bending, reaming, and installing pipe and pipe fittings 
• Assembles pipe sections, tubing, or fittings 
• Assists with diagnosing problems and/or failures in filtration systems 
• Documents activities for the purpose of providing written support 
• Assists in locating and marking the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in basic water systems related to the product installation requirements 
• Attends departmental meetings 
• Participates in periodic inventory and truck inspections 
• Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools in a safety-conscious manner 
• Explains to the client each service performed each time an installation, maintenance or repair is completed and ensures complete customer satisfaction 
• Provides pricing to the company for approval prior to performing any work 
• Participates in all company-sponsored training classes. 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:  

• Ability to perform multiple technical tasks including operating equipment, adhering to safety practices, and planning/managing installations 
• Ability to read technical information, compose documents, and solve practical problems 
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 

Educational/certification requirements:  

• Trade certificate in domestic home maintenance/installations will be considered as an asset
• Basic knowledge of Electrical single-phase systems and the safety related to such installations.
