Maintenance Operative - Gozo

Meliá Hotels International in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Operative to join the Melia Team across different properties in Gozo , on a full-time basis.

Overview:

We are currently seeking for a passionate and dynamic Maintenance Operative who takes pride on their ability to deliver high-quality standards of customer service and ensures guest satisfaction at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Complete minor repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, repairs to pipe lines, toilets, sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment, etc;
• Perform preventative maintenance duties as detailed in the hotel preventative maintenance calendar;
• Monitor efficiency of equipment and electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, guest entrance/access doors, television sets, lighting systems and make minor repairs and/or replacements to ensure things are working properly and efficiently at all times;
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed;
• Follow established safety procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incident, unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor or manager on duty;
• Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up;
• Performs other cleaning duties as required.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate must have 1 year of relevant experience in the field.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Must be customer service driven and detail-oriented.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English.
