Concrete Laboratory Technician Assistant
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for the management of the Quality Control Laboratory which includes the supervision of lab technicians, and training of lab technician. Coordinate quality control objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximise product reliability and minimise costs.
Including but not limited to:
Perform laboratory tests on concrete specimens. Tests include but are not limited to
Concrete: Plasticity index, Durability, Specific Gravity, Slump tests, Retained Strength.
Examines and prepares concrete and aggregate samples for testing.
study and resolve technical issues
Quality control management
Apply mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, dimensions, and strengths.
Develop advanced and new testing methods.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Report to the production manager and another related manager the results of the testing.
Develop and analyse statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
Plan, promote and organise training activities related to product quality and reliability.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Good knowledge of concrete testing, durability tests, aggregates (specific gravity, absorption, moisture, sieve analysis.), and lab equipment.
Good knowledge of writing reports and proficiency in written and verbal English.
Minimum 1 year of experience in the same field.
Aptitude for math concepts and report preparation.
Ability to multi-task and meet the deadline.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good command of Microsoft Excel formulas & functions.
