Draughtsperson & CAD Drafter
We are looking for a Civil CAD Drafter to join our client's team. The deal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of civil CAD production, preparing plans for their precasting production, from concept to completion of design, including costing, CAD drawings, and material take-offs and will be reporting to the Project Director and CEO.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a company focused on the construction and manufacture of building materials and is based in Naxxar, Malta.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create models 2D & 3D that cover all structural and design requirements (SOP, procedure).
- Optimise the design in terms of concrete, steel, and wood, and be able to quickly compare alternative ways.
- Understand and improve methods that minimize waste of table space.
- Estimate and generate the list of materials based on the designed drawing.
- Cost control and Quality control following ISO standard procedures.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in civil CAD and production of design documents.
- Construction experience is a plus.
- General knowledge of engineering principles and materials for civil work.
- Read and understand construction documents.
- Ability to create surfaces, alignments, profiles & sections required to document civil work.
- Ability to detail basic structural connections.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, and Rhinoceros 3D Software.
- Autodesk Inventory.
- Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint). Excel Level Expert.
- Excellent English and Maltese Language.
EDUCATION
Degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology, or BTEC Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment or the equivalent.
WORKING TIME
Monday to Friday, from 07:00 till 16:00 with one hour break. work on overtime and weekends as required. Summer and Christmas shutdown.
