About the Department
The regulation and supervision of professional trustees and other fiduciaries falls within the remit of the MFSA and in fact the MFSA has a specific function designated with the responsibility for both the authorisation as well as the supervision of trustees and other fiduciaries. The function's main objective is to ensure that licensed trustees and fiduciaries have the appropriate structures and systems in place to service clients adequately whilst at the same time preserving their reputation as well as Malta's reputation, taking into account its international commitments.
About the Role
Your work will require that you are involved in various areas relating to the regulation, authorisation and supervision of trustees and other fiduciaries, with a particular focus on legal aspects of the sector and the workstreams involved. Duties will include:
About you
You will hold a University of Malta Degree in Law (LL.D. or Master of Advocacy level) at MQF level 6 or higher. Possession of a warrant to practice in the Courts of Malta would be considered an asset. Any exposure and/or a post graduate degree in a discipline relevant to the financial services sector, would be considered an asset, as would any experience and/or or background knowledge related to trust management and fiduciary services.
A minimum of five (5) years prior experience is required, preferably within the financial services sector or related fields.
